Melaka + Gum
I just got back from Melaka two days ago and the best thing about Malaysia is that whatever you buy, you get to divide it by 2.5 so everything is so much cheaper.
Sadly, I didn't really get a lot of things because my family wanted to do things other than shopping so the all but one of the things I got were semi-edible (gum). I think the only thing I bought that isn't edible is my brand spanking new Captain America t-shirt.

Ignore my ugly face |
Speaking of movies, I watched two while in Melaka, I watched The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug on Friday. You should have seen me rushing to watch The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey before I could go and watch the movie. We even went for a midnight show and got back to the hotel around 2 a.m. Now, I really want to rewatch the movie because it was bloody excellent.
I'm actually going out on Boxing Day with my friends and I wanted to watch The Hobbit again but I was outvoted because everyone wanted to watch Frozen. Hmph.
If you can't tell, I'm not a huge Disney fan.
Anyway, the second movie I watched was 47 Ronin. It's a pretty straightforward movie, based on a true story of 47 ronin, but 100% more embellished since the director threw in a dragon, a witch, demons and other supernatural stuff.
And the funniest thing that happened during The Hobbit is that at one part, gigantic spiders were featured and at one point, one of it jumped out of nowhere and it was quite obvious that it was going to happen but my father freaking jumped out of his seat and I still can't stop laughing.
Now to the more important part of this post.
You know how there is this thing where if kids don't really get to eat sweets when they're young, when they grow up, they will become sugar addicts?
That is me, except instead of sweets, I am a gum addict.
In 1992, a gum ban was imposed and the import of chewing gum was halted. So if I want gum, I'll have to wait anywhere from 6 months to a year until I can go back to Melaka and buy as much gum as I want.
I finished my last stick of gum yesterday and it was in those 5 packet things with 12 sticks inside. I finished 8 sticks on the very same day I bought it.

My dear darling gum which I have already finished |
The packet still smells really minty.
[cries over lack of gum]
Just to be clear, I don't want the gum ban to be lifted. Mainly because Singaporeans can be quite childish and I imagine the whole sticking-the-gum-anywhere-I-bloody-want thing will still happen and frankly, I like the idea of not having gum everywhere.
Anyway, it is Christmas Eve today and I hope you are all having a wonderful time!

Daiso haul!
*grabs party popper and attempts to pull the string*
How's your life today? Good?
So yesterday, I went to Daiso, because I needed a few things. Half of the items I bought were for crafts and the other half is simply for fun.
Now, if you don't know what Daiso is, Daiso is a Japanese store which sells goods, over 40% of which are imported from China. The best thing about them is that everything (in Singapore at least) is only $2! They achieve these low prices by purchasing all their stuff directly from manufactures in very high volume, which is something Walmart does as well.
Yes, I'm reading off Wikipedia.
They also vary their goods constantly, so customers will keep coming back. This also means that when someone recommends a product from Daiso, the same item may not be there anymore when you go yourself. However, the items I bought are likely to still be there when you go, considering that I have never seen these items vanish from their stores.
The store I went to is the one at Tampines 1. It is tucked away in the corner of the 3rd floor and is near Coffee Bean so if you are trying to find the store, just look for Coffee Bean and make your way there. Once you are there, it is impossible not to see Daiso.
Going by the order I found them, the first item I got was...

Subject combination
Hi guys!
Two updates in a month but they are so far apart, it might as well be one month.
I got my subject combination around two weeks ago and I am very fortunate that I got my first choice.
It might also because I chose literature but practically no one else did because they hate the subject.
So my subject combination is SS/History, Literature, Chemistry and Physics. You all have no idea how glad I was when I realised that I didn't need to take geography. In fact, I am currently having a private party in which I set all my old (and now useless) Geography stuff on fire. It is very calming.
And flammable.
Chemistry is compulsory in my school and then you have to choose whether to take Biology or Physics the next year. I chose to take Physics instead of Biology because this year, there was quite a large amount of focus on Biology and my results just went pfft. So physics it is!
For the secondary 2 2014 batch, I would advise choosing subjects you like and can score well in. Whether you want a class you can enjoy class yourself in or a class you can score easily in is up to you.
For me, I chose my happiness over my marks. My Geography marks are actually better than the rest but I didn't choose it because I knew if I took such a class, I'll end up having a nervous breakdown. I really hate Geography.
The only part I chose marks over happiness was for my Physics and Biology but even then it doesn't really count because I am fine with both but I just don't feel like failing science next year.
According to my tutor, I might find myself failing my maths next year because it needs to have "a strong foundation" which none of my subjects have. If my subjects were buildings, I built them all on the titanic.
Let's just see how everything works out next year.
Ciao!

Wibbly wobbly, timey wimey...stuff
Hello everyone! It is the month of November and that means that the school holidays are coming up, for primary school students that is. Secondary students have already started theirs and have since commenced the ritual of sleeping at 2 am and waking at 10 before going on Tumblr for the rest of the day. Wait, what's that? It's just me? Okay.
So what have I done so far? I watched many movies, mostly on my laptop..
